Where to eat on Hwy 2, Leavenworth

I had to make a quick day trip, supply run to Poofys. Dinner at the 59er Diner before heading back over the pass was picture perfect and delicious!

Right at Coles Corner, the 59er Diner is your first stop as you come over Stevens Pass. I recommend the pulled pork!

My brother is a big Elvis fan, so i had to take a quick shot for him.

If you can't finish your fries, there is always a sweet Rhode Island Red more than happy to help out.

Vacation Rentals Leavenworth

Summer arrived with a bang this year! We hope you enjoy your time exploring our slice of heaven in the PNW. Usually this time of year we hit the river for a leisurely afternoon float. NOT this year! With the hot temperatures and record breaking snow pack the river is still running high and fast.  Lake Wenatchee is a great alternative or if you're headed into town, Enchantment Park in Leavenworth will cool you down.

Everything is about a month behind schedule this year. I was thrilled to see all my wild flowers in bloom.

The yard is wild at Poofy's...even the smallest of blooms are appreciated!

Nothing beats a good night sleep and waking up to the sound of the birds....

Washington Hikes, Wallace Falls

Squeezed in a mid-week escape to do some hiking and see the wildflowers.

We are always driving by Wallace Falls, this time it was the destination.

A perfect Spring day for a hike. 

5.5 miles round trip. A great hike for all levels. It's a popular one, so a mid-week escape is recommended.

Next stop, photo op at Lake Wenatchee.

Scenic drives Washington, Hwy 2

I never get tired of the drive on Hwy 2.

I was driving on my own and finally pulled over for coffee at the espresso Chalet and the best view of Mt. Index.

Minutes before this photo my husband had texted me to say the pass is clear!!! Minutes later, I was in the middle of the last storm of the season.  

 

Spring in Leavenworth

Its early Spring and we're waiting for the mud to dry up before we can hit the trails. Plenty of snow on the

mountains! If you find yourself here mid-week, Leavenworth is perfect for exploring. You'll have the town to yourself.

Grab some lunch and have your pick of outdoor tables. 

Coffee and shopping...everyone had their doors wide open, lots of airflow...

Check out Posy Handpicked, Its my favorite! lots of lovely treasures from mostly women owned businesses. Small batch, or handmade. I always leave with something.

Poofys has a fibre optic wifi for a pretty speedy connection. There's a nice desk and office chair set-up upstairs. I have a card table I like to set up in the bedroom for painting. The light coming in from both windows id perfect for my "work from home" set up.

Cross Country Skiing In Plain Wa

Seattle Peeps, cross country heaven is much closer than you think!!!!! 

 

Groomed daily, check out the conditions and buy your passes at Ski Plain.

25km of groomed classic and skate...7km of snowshoe trails...kids ski free!!!!!

I usually park at the lot off the Chiwawa loop rd., just 2 miles from Poofy's and then ski  towards  the woods of Thousand Trails.

Gotta go, the trails are calling me!
