About

A contemporary, bright, beautifully furnished cabin nestled on rustic acreage of golden sun lit Ponderosa Pines.  Poofy's Paradise is very private with beautiful views from every window. Enjoy the sunrise and your morning coffee from the master bedroom deck. This is our family cabin and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. We're both artists and avid travelers. We've decorated the cabin with original artwork and handmade art and crafts collected over the years and from many parts of the world.

The recently renovated cabin features 3 bedrooms including a very spacious master bedroom, a sleeping loft, 2 bathrooms, washer, dryer, pine ceilings, hardwood floors, Mexican tile hearth and a modern Norwegian wood burning stove, individual thermostat controlled electric heaters in each room,  live edge rustic wood shelving, and lots of original artwork. We have many books for kids and adults, magazines, puzzles, indoor and outdoor games for your enjoyment. We do not, however, have a TV or any other screens; the best screen at Poofy's by far is the brilliant starlit sky above. But if the city must follow you to Poofy's, we have fiber optic wifi for a very high speed Internet connection to plug your devices into.

A cabin copy (available for purchase at Plain Hardware) of a detailed trail map of the surrounding area is also available for you to plan your outings. Hiking, biking, running, horseback riding, fishing, swimming, boating, river floating, snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, sledding, etc., its all right outside!

Living Room

The living room features a gorgeous Mexican tiled hearth with a wood burning stove, sofa, chaise lounge, ceiling fan and dining table. Lots of hooks to hang your wet gear and large shoe and boot storage bench.

Kitchen

We have a full kitchen with a beautiful breakfast bar, refridgerator, stove, oven, popcorn popper, waffle iron, drip coffee maker and stove top Italian mocha pots, soda stream, toaster and microwave. Bakeware is in the oven drawer. For cleaning the cast iron pan use salt, water and the scrub brush but no soap. Dry it, brush it with a little oil and thats it.

Plain Grocery has the basics and is about 4 miles away; don't forget to pet the Bison goatee. There are also two full grocery stores in Leavenworth including a Safeway.

Bedrooms

The master suite is very spacious and features a queen size bed with a down duvet, sofa and ceiling fan. Two foam sleep mats are under the bed in case the little ones show up at night. Ironing board and iron are located in the master closet. Enjoy the sunrise and peek-a-boo mountain views with your morning coffee on the deck, but be careful not to LOCK yourself out!

The downstairs bedrooms  have a queen size bed in one and bunkbeds in the other . Both bedrooms have down alternative duvets. All bedrooms have large closets with basket systems for convenient storage. The sleeping loft has a queen size bed with down alternative duvet.

Bathrooms

The master bath features a claw footed tub with lovely views. The main floor bathroom is newly remodeled with contemporary tile work, aged barn wood trim, Kohler faucets, washer and dryer. Poofy’s paradise is on a septic system, just toilet tissue in the toilets please. A hair dryer is provided in the master bathroom.

Outside

Follow the walking trails that loop throughout the property to the "Christmas Trees" where you can hear the neighbors horses neighing. The kids will have a blast sledding all day and late into the evening in the winter time. We also have a metal outdoor table and 4 chairs for lazy outdoors breakfasts and 4 easily portable camp style chairs to find just the right lounging spot on the property.

A charcoal barbecue and fire pit is available to use when there is NOT a burn ban (which is typically from late May through early October). Poofy's Paradise is in an extreme fire hazard zone much of the year. Note: there are very strict legal penalties for violating the bans, so please be extremely careful and aware, and please ask us and we'll let you know if it is ok to burn. Make sure to keep the hose nearby and to thoroughly extinguish all flames for many minutes afterward as the fires in our dry conditions can smolder underground for weeks.

Note: The property served as a farm for many generations and despite many and regular clean ups, we still occasionally find a bit of glass or barb wire. Its also easy to stray off the property. In short, the property is “rustic” so please always wear shoes, watch your step, and make sure children are always tended to.
