Leavenworth Roadtrip Diners

I am a creature of habit and for some unknown reason we had never been to the Squirrel Tree. We were pleasantly surprised!

Festive friend in the bar....we'll be back for an evening visit...

Recently renovated, the restaurant with its beautiful fireplace feels like great cozy lodge.

Our breakfasts were good! Breakfast potatoes were nicely seasoned, crispy and flavorful and the bacon was fresh and not re-heated. Looking forward to trying lunch and dinner soon.

There is a coffee and squirrels!

 

Things to do in Winter in Leavenworth

 Headed to Leavenworth for a day trip or weekend or longer? Take the drive towards Plain on the Chiwawa loop road. Check in at Plain Hardware and get yourself a cross country ski pass for the day  as well as cross country ski rentals if you need them. 

Something for everyone on the trails. Slackers can do a 30 minute easy ski to the Mountain Springs Lodge where hot soup, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks will keep you busy while you wait for the more active members of your group.

Happy New Year Vacation rental Leavenworth

Happy New Year from all of us at Poofy's Paradise. May 2023 bring peace, good health and happiness to all. 

SOOOO much snow fell this November and December. It was mid thigh for me treking around the property. Luckily, it was light and fluffy and easy to shovel.

The patio is inviting each and every season.

Sauna anyone?

This year I made the New York Times sugar cookies and they were yummy and pretty.

Trying to add some new to me holiday mugs each year. Tested this one and it works pretty good.

Mountain Biking Leavenworth

 A fun weekend with friends exploring a new trail. Xanadu in Peshastin gets a big thumbs up from our crew.

Absolutely gorgeous views on this one! I haven't been riding much this year so was proud of myself for making it up most of the 4 mile climb for some photos and the view. I prefer a mellower cross country ride, but my downhill riding husband LOVED IT!

Plain WA, our little secret spot between Lake Wenatchee and Leavenworth. Go take a hike or float and then spend the rest of the day poking around Plain.

I hope you'll take the detour.

Wine Tasting in Leavenworth

Truth is you can easily keep yourself busy in our little town of Plain. After a local hike, bike ride or horseback riding, I recommend a wine tasting at Plain Cellars.

A charming tasting room and plenty of outdoor seating around the back.
