Twin Lakes Hike

The Twin Lakes trailhead is at the end of the road on the north side of Lake Wenatchee. We did this hike last spring when there was still some snow on the ground at the top. Just over 8 miles round trip, this has been one of our favorites. A lovely variety of views and a lake to jump into at the end.

Love the view point near the beginning of the trail.

What's a hike without a little water fall.

Bread, Bikes and Buns...

Weekends at Poofy's are all about relaxing, getting out on bikes or taking a hike.

I brought my old Lodge cast iron pot out to Poofy's and love to make some no knead bread.

It usually lasts about 10 minutes if we are lucky.

...and then I had a craving for cinnamon buns!

Picnic in Skykomish

Pulled over to picnic in Skykomish on our way to Poofy's Paradise. A short stop this time, looking forward to hiking the trails this summer.

It was a cloudy, grey day, decided to play up the clouds with my photo filters.

Sweet little Candy shop!

The old Skykomish Hotel will soon be renovated....

Thanks to the folks at the Great Northern Cascade Railway for the free train ride!

A lovely weekend...

There are weekends when we just don't leave the yard.

We've marked a lovely path that loops around Poofy's.

Looking through the grasses from the foot path just off the driveway.

 May wild flowers...

A lovely spot to take in the sun and pine trees.

Walking through the wildflowers...

Another weekend, another walk. The Icicle Ridge trail is just off Hwy 2,  as you enter Leavenworth.

I like taking pictures of signs.

These lovelies welcomed us for the most of the lower part of the trail.

These were hiding in the grass, almost missed them.

View from the top, looking down on Hwy 2 and the Wenatchee River.

Up on the ridge, more teeny, tiny pretty wild flowers.

It was about an 1 1/2 hours to get to the top. I wasn't in a hurry and as you can see had lots of time pictures. A sweet view looking down over Leavenworth.

A walk in the woods....

Just a short walk from the south shore of Lake Wenatchee, the Hidden Lake trail is a lovely walk in the woods.

There are two starting points for the Hidden Lake trail Head, this time we tried the shorter walk that begins a little further up the road.

The trees were sparkling after last nights rain...

Just a short walk to Hidden Lake.

Back at Lake Wenatchee checking out the blooms in the stream.

A timeless black and white shot of Lake Wenatchee.
