An afternoon in the Cascades
Poofy's Paradise is definitely paradise in any season. We are always looking for a new day hike to check out and had always wanted to climb "Dirty Face" by Lake Wenatchee. Even though we were not prepared for the whole hike we decided to take a walk and see how far we got.
Just a 1.5 miles in the views begin, lovely Lake Wenatchee!
a waterfall and creek...
wild flowers a plenty...
Enough trees to take some cool photos...
Looking forward to doing the whole hike on the next visit.

Contemporary, cozy, cabin in the woods
Its been fun decorating Poofy's Paradise with bits and pieces from here and there, lovely handcrafted finds from our travels, gifts from friends and treasures from thrift stores...and original work by us!
I am a sucker for embroidery, especially if it has a splash hot pink, mirrors and tassels!
Poofy's cherished friend and most dear deer, Pinky.
Summer lunch on the patio.
Have a great stay!

DIY, refinishing table and chairs
Its been fun getting Poofy's Paradise decorated and ready for guests. Here's a couple of the projects.
The table and chairs were left behind when we purchased Poofy's, perfect for a little DIY project. I usually like to use what I have on hand, so the turquoise paint went on a few things but I bought the green paint to tie into the Mexican tile hearth.
All that brown was so dark and depressing. I wanted to bring out the warmth of the wooded floors and walls so painting the table and chairs really brightened up the whole space.
The small side table and chairs move around season to season.

Old Mill Cafe
While the kids were sleeping in, we slipped away for breakfast at The Old Mill Cafe. The new owners have kept all the charm and added a whole lot of deliciousness to the menu! I am looking forward to trying lunch and dinner on the next visit.

Winter get-aways
We had a beautiful mid-winter break at Poofy's. While the rest of family was up at Stevens I played on the local cross country and skate ski trails.
Saying hi to the horses.
My first time on the trails that loop through Thousand Trails.
A great snowy hike to look over the Wenatchee River.
Perfectly placed perch...
Saddest day of the week is when we have to go home. Poofy's has a vacancy this weekend. Lots of fresh snow at Stevens....
